Given the context and general nature of thrift mixed-media art, we have generally assumed that the chart in (Biorhythm) is likely an electrocardiogram of a newborn child, a sort of baby’s first photo, and a picture of a life yet to unfold.
The overall image is dark, a deep brown frame and dark ribbons, unusually somber for a newborn, and we were not able to entirely rule out that the image was more of a funereal note. However, the flowers shown on the ribbon—geraniums—are rarely associated with funerals. According to our staff of Victoriologists, geraniums are occasionally associated with happy meetings and innocence, but in most cases, are associated with stupidity.
