8-10GW2222Hobo1An iconic picture of the “Hobo” character clown, perpetually down on his luck but always armed with a smile. This archetype is a mirror of the wealthy millionaire: spats, cigar, waistcoat, white gloves. The hobo’s brother in clowning, the Tramp, is the weeping mask to the Hobo’s smile. The Hobo clown has nothing, and is still joyful. What would the wealth of the world add to his experience? Like the Taoist masters, the Hobo Clown is at peace with his circumstances, and without the worries of maintaining a mansion and yacht, he finds a happiness and contentment that is denied to his financial superiors. “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
